    • the Service Provider field does not need to be filled out unless you have more than one Internet Service Provider
    • "Account Name:" should be your Majornet username (also known as your login name).
    • "Password:" should be the password which corresponds to your username
    • "Telephone Number:" should be the telephone number you received from the local dialup finder or from Majornet Technical Support when you signed up for the account
    • "Alternate Number" can be another local number you chose from the local dialup finder, or an alternate number you were given by Majornet Technical Support staff. NOTE Always make sure you check with the operator before dialing that the number is not a toll call
    • Check the "Save Password" box if you do not want to type in your password everytime you start a Dialup connection.

When you have filled in that information, click on "PPP Options" to look at advanced options.

Use the PPP settings recommended above

  5. The PPP Options window which folds down contains many advanced options. Click on the "Help" menu on the menubar at the top of the screen to learn more about them. Press "Ok" when you are done with the PPP Options.

  7. Click on the "Proxy" settings next. Majornet does not run any proxies that need to be accounted for.

    • "Wait for dial tone before dialing" should be checked
    • "Dialing" should be set to "Tone" unless otherwise instructed to use "Pulse"
    • "Sound" is handy to leave on, as you will get audible feedback if the connection does not work properly
    • "Show modem status in menu bar" puts a handy menu up near the clock at the top of the screen which will let you connect and disconnect

Configure the Modem settings according to the instructions above

That's it, you're done! Just press "Apply Now" to save the changes you have made. For more information about Mac OS X please see the help documentation found within the help menu at the top of the screen.
